Wiedemann Language Day was celebrated today in Väike-Maarja. The event started at 12 o'clock, when Mare Koit, this year's laureate of the Wiedemann language prize, planted the name oak in the language grove.
The planting of the oak tree was followed by a seminar in the Väike-Maarja society house, the presentations of which mainly talked about language technology.

The language day was organized by the Väike-Maarja municipality government and the Mother Language Society, supported by the Ministry of Education and Research.
