As of August 1, a total of 558 young people submitted applications for admission to the Freedom School. In August, applications for admission to the gymnasium will continue and interviews will be held with young people from Ukraine who are going to the gymnasium.

According to Liyna Pyld , vice-rector of general education and youth policy of the Ministry of Education and Science, it is nice to see that Ukrainian families have found a new school, and today the school has 558 students, and even more are added to the gymnasium level. "All Ukrainian children should have the opportunity to study in an Estonian-speaking school or a school that uses the language immersion method, so we are opening a new school in Tallinn, where the majority of students are from Ukraine," Pyld explained, adding that the Freedom School could also become a public school a center for Ukrainians, in the activities of which parents also participate.

According to the Director of Education of the School of Freedom Olga Selishcheva , the school is actively recruiting teachers, support specialists and other employees. "I am glad that more than forty people have already joined the Freedom School team, including almost 30 teachers from both Estonia and Ukraine. But there are still unfilled places in some subject areas, so I invite everyone who wants to make a contribution to the education of Ukrainian war refugees, even with a small workload, to contact us," Selishcheva said.

As of August 1, 558 young people applied for admission to the Freedom School, 347 of them to elementary school and 211 to gymnasium. In the primary school, the study places are filled and classes are now being formed.
