Until 17 June, an application round is open for organizing camps promoting integration and language learning for young people in Estonia and Ukraine. Applications are invited from all schools, hobby schools, youth work and hobby providers and support organizations for war refugees. 

The aim of the camps is to promote the faster adaptation of Ukrainian youth to the Estonian language and cultural space and their readiness to continue their education in an Estonian-language school.

The organization of overnight camps (7-14 days) and day camps (5-14 days) is supported. The organizer of the camp must involve young people from Ukraine and young people aged 7–19 who speak Estonian at a good level of communication to the extent of 30% –50%. The camp organizers offer in the camps:

  • opportunities for integrated and playful basic learning of the Estonian language and for creating an communication environment in Estonian; 
  • support for the establishment of social relations between young people in Ukraine and their Estonian peers;
  • support for the integration of the young Ukrainian into Estonian society by introducing the Estonian language and culture;
  • support for the mental health of young people;
  • various hobbies.

With an additional budget, the state allocates up to 2.8 million euros for the organization of summer youth camps.
